Government and Public Interest Employers with Multiple Divisions

What University Admins need to know when employers share one email domain across several hiring divisions.

Written by Kaylee Welling

Some government and public interest employers, like the Department of Justice, have many hiring divisions that all use the same email domain (for example, usdoj.gov). Flo now sets up each of these divisions as its own organization. Employers choose their division when they sign in or register for your event, so each division's registration, jobs, and interview schedules stay separate.

Who this applies to: University Admins running Interview Management events that include government or public interest employers whose email domain Flo has set up as shared across multiple divisions. For all other employers, nothing changes.

What This Means for Your Events

  • Divisions register separately. Each division registers for your event as its own employer and shows up as its own row on the Event Attendees table.

  • Students see the division name. Job and event cards show the full division name, for example Department of Justice — Civil Division. Students who search for the parent agency name will still find these postings.

  • Fewer registration problems. Employers registering for events at more than one school no longer get the error that sent them back to the parent agency.

Adding a Late Registration for a Division

If you add a late registration for an employer on a shared email domain, Flo asks you to choose the division before sending the registration email.

  1. On the Event Attendees table, click Add Late Registration.

  2. Enter the employer contact's email, then click Send Registration Email.

  3. On Select your division, choose the division the employer is registering for, then click Next. Divisions are listed alphabetically as Agency — Division. You can use the search field to find the right one.

  4. The registration email goes to the employer, and the registration is saved under the division you selected. Finish the rest of the process (email confirmation, job creation, and approval) as usual.

Good to know:

  • Confirm the division with your employer contact first. Recruiters may work across several divisions, so check which one they're registering for before you choose.

  • If the division isn't on the list, don't choose a different one. Contact Flo Support and we'll get it added.

For the full late registration process, see Interview Management: Late Employer Registrations.

Helping Employers Who Reach Out

Employers on a shared domain pick their division each time they sign in. If an employer contacts you with a question, here's where to point them:

  • They can't find an event from before divisions were set up. They should sign in and select the parent agency, for example Department of Justice. If the event isn't there, have them contact Flo Support.

  • They registered under the wrong division. Have them contact Flo Support.

FAQ

Why do I see several employers from the same agency on my attendee list? Each division is set up as its own organization, so each one that registers appears as its own employer.

Why am I seeing a division picker during late registration? The email you entered belongs to a domain shared by several divisions. Choosing the division makes sure the registration goes to the right account.

Does this change anything for other employers? No. The picker only appears for email domains Flo has set up as shared across multiple divisions.
