You can now share performance evaluations with firm leaders directly in Flo! Dashboards give practice group chairs, office leaders, managers, and mentors a read-only view of evaluations for their own people, without needing admin access to Performance Management.
You choose which review cycles, evaluation types, and profile details to share. Leaders can then follow a cycle's progress and read evaluations as they come in, so there's no need to build and email evaluation packets.
Setting up a dashboard takes three steps:
Add Manager and Mentor relationships to user profiles (if you plan to use them)
Create Groups
Create the dashboard
Step 1: Add Manager and Mentor Relationships
User profiles now include Manager and Mentor fields. When manager or mentor access is turned on for a dashboard, these people automatically see their own direct reports or mentees.
Manager is typically for business professionals. Each user can have one manager.
Mentor is typically for attorneys. A mentor can have multiple mentees.
To update these fields, use the bulk import, API, or open a user's profile and edit the About section.
From the "My Organization" tab, select "Users" from the left-hand menu, then click on the user's name to open their profile:
From there, hover over the three dots in the "About" section, and click "Edit" :
Finally, configure the Manager and/or Mentors field from this menu, and save changes:
Step 2: Create Groups
Groups, such as a practice group, department, or office, control who appears on a dashboard and who can view it.
Go to My Organization and select Groups from the left pane.
Upload a CSV with your group details, or create a group manually by entering a name and an optional description.
Add members. Use the filters to narrow the list (for example, filter by Job Title to find all Associates ), select the members, and click Next.
Choose which members should have view-only access. These users can see the group's members on any dashboard the group is attached to.
Members with view-only access are listed at the top of the group. You can add or remove members and update access at any time.
Step 3: Create a Dashboard
Go to Review Cycles, select Dashboards from the left pane, and click New Dashboard.
Enter a name for the dashboard.
Review Data: Select the active or past cycles to include. For each cycle, choose which evaluations to share (Self-Evaluation, Reviewer Evaluation, Consensus Evaluation, or any combination) and whether to group them By Question or By Reviewer.
Additional Settings: Choose which profile fields, including custom fields, appear with each evaluation, and whether viewers can print.
Dashboard Columns: Add profile fields such as job title, office, practice area, or level as columns viewers can filter and sort by.
Grant Access: Select the group(s) that can access the dashboard. You can also give access to the managers and/or mentors of people in those groups.
Note: Dashboards follow the visibility rules set for each review cycle. If sensitive or rating questions are hidden in the cycle, they'll be hidden on the dashboard too.
Once saved, you can Edit, Delete, or Preview the dashboard. We recommend using Preview, which shows the dashboard exactly as a viewer will see it, before sharing it with leadership.
Who Can See What
View-only group members, such as a practice group chair, see everyone in that group.
Managers and mentors see only their own direct reports or mentees, even if the dashboard is attached to a larger group.
Example: On a Litigation dashboard, the practice group chair has view-only access to the Litigation group and Mentor access is turned on. The chair sees every Litigation attorney, while a mentor to one associate sees only that associate.
Tip: For business professionals, attach a single group of all business professionals and turn on Manager access. Each manager will see only their own reports, so there's no need to create a group for each manager.
The Viewer Experience
Once someone has access to at least one dashboard, a new Dashboard option appears for them in Performance Management. There they'll see:
Each dashboard they can access, tagged Open (if any included cycle is open) or Closed (once all are closed)
Completion percentages for each stage of the current open cycle
Selecting View Dashboard opens a table of the people they have access to. Viewers can filter and sort the table, choose which columns to show, and click any evaluation to read it.
If printing is enabled, they can print evaluations one at a time.
Leaders who also have evaluations to complete will continue to find those in their review cycles as usual.
Things to Know
Dashboards are read-only. Viewers can't edit evaluations.
There's no limit to the number of groups or dashboards you can create.
People can belong to more than one group, and can have view-only access in one group while being a regular member of another.
Profile Documents can't be shared on dashboards yet. We expect to add this later this year.
Dashboards don't have a separate on/off switch. To hold one back until you're ready, wait to attach groups or turn on manager or mentor access.
