AI tools can help reviewers write clear, constructive feedback directly within evaluation forms. Depending on your organization's AI settings, reviewers can use AI Rewrite to revise comments they've already written and AI Tone Assist to receive real-time feedback on the tone and clarity of their responses.
Using AI Rewrite
AI Rewrite allows reviewers to rewrite a draft response without leaving the evaluation form. It can help improve the tone, clarity, and impact of a comment while keeping the original meaning and information.
Reviewers can choose from three standard prompts or describe in their own words how they'd like their response to be revised.
Enable AI Rewrite
Access to AI Rewrite is controlled by a role-level toggle in AI settings. An admin must enable the feature before the AI icon will appear for text questions on evaluation forms.

Rewrite a response
To use AI Rewrite:
Enter your response in the text field on the evaluation form.
Click the AI icon next to the text field.
Open the Rewrite panel.
Select one of the available prompts or describe how you'd like your response changed.
Review the suggested response.
Click Use Response to apply the suggestion.
If you want to return to your original response after applying the suggestion, click Undo.
Things to know about AI Rewrite
Undo restores the exact text you had before applying the rewrite.
Use Response is disabled after a suggestion has been applied so the same suggestion can't be applied twice.
AI Rewrite reworks and expands on the information you've already written. It will not introduce new facts you haven't provided.
The AI icon is disabled when a text field is empty. Enter text in the field before using AI Rewrite.
Using AI Tone Assist
AI Tone Assist provides real-time feedback while reviewers write comments on an evaluation form. It can identify phrasing that may come across as harsh, vague, unclear, or potentially biased and suggest an alternative.
Tone Assist helps reviewers keep feedback constructive and professionally worded before an evaluation is submitted.

Review Tone Assist suggestions
When Tone Assist identifies a potential issue, it highlights the relevant phrase and displays a flag with more information.
Reviewers can:
Apply the suggested wording to update their response.
Dismiss the flag to remove the recommendation for the current editing session.
What Tone Assist may flag
Tone Assist can identify several types of language, including:
Gendered or coded language that may be applied unevenly across groups
References to protected characteristics
Vague or unsupported feedback that doesn't include a specific example
Unprofessional or inappropriate language
Overused or cliché HR phrases, such as "team player"
Each flag explains why the language was identified and, when available, provides a suggested alternative.
Things to know about Tone Assist
Tone Assist suggestions are informational only. They never prevent a reviewer from submitting an evaluation form.
Reviewers can submit a form even when there are open Tone Assist flags.
Dismissing a flag removes the highlight for the current editing session. It does not permanently resolve the flag.
Reviewers always decide whether to apply or dismiss a suggestion.
